My Top 3 Favourites from July's Bella Box!

Sponsored Post

Image Description: A flatlay photograph taken from the top down. It is a shot of beauty and makeup products. On top is a small tube of highlighter in mostly black packaging. Below that is an eye serum in a white tube with bright pink cap. Below that is a small sachet of hand lotion. Next to all this is a card that says "Beauty Snap" on it and features text at the bottom with a website address for BellaBox.

I've always been interested in monthly subscription boxes for skin and beauty, and since moving to a more rural area, it's become that much more important to me as I don't have access to stores like I used to. Plus, most stores don't give out samples anyway, so I've been stuck buying crappy full-sized products before that I either had to throw away or keep in the back of my bathroom cabinets so I don't have to deal with them hahaha.

When Bella Box got in touch with me with an offer to try one of their boxes, I replied with an immediate yes! I had seen their previous boxes, which featured samples and even full-sized products including makeup, skin care, dental care, and even hair accessories. I knew I'd be getting excellent things, and the July Bella Box did not disappoint!

If you saw the unboxing on my Instagram story, you know that there were a LOT of products included in that tiny turquoise box. There were 6 items in total, 4 of which are samples, and 2 of which are full-sized. It was a mix of makeup, skin care, and body care.

I've tried all the items, and although all of them were good, I'd like to share my top 3 faves!

Liar Wrinkle Cheater Eye Serum

My first thought when unboxing was "OMG this is full-sized!". This retails at $39.99 so to get a full size in this box is excellent value. That alone made me excited to try it, and then I opened it and realized that it has a roller ball applicator. Hello, convenience!

The instructions mention that it needs to be used twice a day, but the skin around my eyes are really oily, so I avoid using anything for them in the day time. I used this serum at night for two weeks, and there has been an enormous improvement to my eye area. More than anything, I have found that my eyes appear more lifted, and there's definitely a reduction in the fine lines on the outer corner.

This eye serum is all natural, and contains peptides and Hyaluronic Acid, which is my favourite beauty ingredient. You can find more information on its ingredients by clicking HERE. It is vegan, not tested on animals, and (this is a big perk for you glam mamas) it is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Most importantly: it works. I am so pleased with this that I am buying it again when this 12ml tube runs out.

Model Co Highlighting Shimmer Whip in Champagne

I have had awful experiences with liquid highlighters, so I didn't really have high hopes for this product. Fortunately, it did not disappoint at all! At 7ml, this is tiny sample, but I quickly discovered that a little goes a long way, so I foresee this sample tube lasting for at least a couple more months (mainly because I only use makeup once or twice a week).

The texture is like velvet, and the shimmer gives a subtle glow. There's no visible glitter, which makes it great for daytime and to add to your base for an overall glowing look. The light texture (it's kinda like a cross between liquid and cream) made it easier to blend. There's no skipping or peeling with this highlighter, which was a big problem for me with other highlighters that I've used before.

I don't use powder makeup, so I don't know how well it would go on a completely matte base, but it played really really well with my cream foundation (NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation) and also my BB Cream (Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream SPF 50). I used it in combination with both as a base, and also on top of both as a highlighter. It worked amazing in both situations! The shade Champagne was perfect on my skin, as it was a slightly warmer tone without going full bronze.

You can purchase the 7ml sample size for only $12 on the Bella Box website!

Plunkett NS Working Hands Intensive

Alright, so this seems like a bit of an odd one out, since it's really very utilitarian, but I've used it before and loved it! I never bought it again, and I am not entirely sure why, but I adore this formulation for its no-nonsense treatment of my overworked and very dry hands. Seeing this sample was a good reminder for me to grab another tube of it!

Making things at Aeva Handmade often requires a lot of work that is tough on my hands, particularly during the yarn dyeing process. I do wear gloves, but they're really drying as well. Add regular housework to this, and you'll know why my hands are terribly dry. The things is, I can't have dry, peeling fingertips and cuticles when I am working with yarn! That's a great way to slow things down and potentially (actually, definitely) ruin my work. So hand lotions are my best friends.

The texture of this lotion is very light, and it absorbs quickly. So you're not stuck with sticky hands after! It does have a mild scent, which I don't mind. It kind of smells like plants or leaves, if that makes sense? Like, it doesn't smell overly flowery or artificial. Apparently it's the scent of Lemon Myrtle, if you know what that smells like! I've tried a lot of hand lotions, and I generally just buy whatever's on special. I need to get back to using the good stuff, so this is on my list of things to buy with my next shop.

At only $10.50 for 150g, it's a wonder I didn't re-purchase this sooner! You can purchase it at Chemist Warehouse.

I am so pleased with the July Bella Box and I cannot wait to see what's in the August box! Apparently everyone will be getting a Wet N Wild nail polish and Floss lip gloss, yessss.

Bella Box subscriptions can be paid monthly (which you can cancel at anytime), and annually (which you pay once annually but also receive one free month!). You can get it as a gift as well, with options for 3 or 6 months subscriptions. FYI, if you sign up to the BellaBox mailing list, you get 10% off your first purchase!

Bella Box also has Bello Box for men's grooming products and Baby Box for your little one, so definitely look at those too. Oh, and definitely have a look at their online shop, because there are heaps of treasures there from a lot of different brands.

Check out the Bella Box website HERE for more information, and don't forget to follow them on Instagram too!
