Product Review: Nursing jewelry and teething rattle from Sootyfoot (and a DISCOUNT CODE!)

Now I don't know about you, but nursing my toddler involves a great amount of pinching, scratching, and all sorts of gymnastics. Although I've become adept at pretty much wrestling my child to make him stay put, the pinching and scratching (and reaching for my mouth, and poking his fingers in my nose, etc etc) is almost impossible for me to stop!

I'm big on nursing discipline, and I've tried almost everything with this child but OMG it's still happening! Fortunately, Sootyfoot heard of my dilemma and very thoughtfully sent over a few of their products to save my life help.

Sootyfoot were awesome enough to even consider my favorite colours (AKA non-colours haha) when choosing what to send me. All three of these products - a nursing necklace, nursing bangle, and teething rattle - are from their series called Orca. Yep, as in killer whales - "because that's what we mamas are", according to the note they included! I totally agree, btw.

First impression: I love how chic these pieces are!!! I've never been into nursing jewelry because every piece I've ever seen looks...well...like toys. Which does not go with any of my outfits tbh. I'm just really particular about what I wear, regardless of whether it should be considered more utilitarian than decorative. Sorry not sorry.

So I was hella pleased that the items Sootyfoot sent went well with my wardrobe, and really anyone's wardrobe, right? That is not to say they don't do colours, though. Their latest collection of pacifier clips are unicorn themed! If Adam took a paci, I'd be on that in an instant. I'd also have much more peaceful drives, but that's another story for another day.

Adam is a huge fan of all three items by Sootyfoot, by the way. The nursing necklace was a great way for him to get that tactile stimulation without hurting me. In fact, I was surprised by how effective it was! I fully expected him to start reaching and pinching after the initial novelty wore off, but he's still as into it as Day 1. What a lifesaver!

He's also been teething a lot - like 8 teeth at once. So when I say a lot, I mean a lot. The teething rattle has the right mix of silicone teething pearls, a baby-safe wooden ring and silicone ring (which is made of 100% food grade silicone, btw). Adam has a preference for each one depending on his needs at the time, but really he's happiest when he can stuff more than one in his mouth (under my supervision, of course).

And the nursing bracelet? It's not mine anymore. It's Adam's, and I am not allowed to touch it, let alone wear it. So there's that.

I would highly recommend Sootfoot's products to any mums with the same struggles as me. If your baby needs constant oral and tactile stimulation, save your boobs (and pinchable body parts) and get yourself some Sootyfoot products! Their silicon products are made of 100% food grade silicone, and all their products are 100% non-toxic. They're also super easy to clean - just wash with clean water and the products are good as new!

Oh, and if you don't find quite what you're looking for, Sootyfoot even does custom orders! Yep, you can totally create your own Sootyfoot product with any colours you have in mind - maybe colours that match your favourite wraps? Just an idea ;)
