New books! So excited!!

I am jumping all over the place - the huge shipment of books I ordered from Amazon has arrived! See, if I'm not mucking about with my boys, I am either (a) working, (b) knitting, (c) doing something on my phone (most likely Tweeting or Angry Birds or Tweeting about Angry Birds) or (d) reading. That last one has been my hobby of choice for the past week as I've not been feeling well and didn't feel like moving much. Hence, my days have been filled by lying on the couch reading book after book after book.

I usually get my fiction and knitting books from Book Xcess (remind me to blog about this fabulous place soon please), but as I start preparing for my Masters thesis, I've developed the need for other types of books (which are also, quite deliberately, not textbooks), which accounts for this lovely mix of tongue-in-cheek mommy-type books and books about breastfeeding (from an academic/analytical/anthropological/political/cultural point-of-view, mind you. At this stage in my life, I don't really need any more how-to books, haha). Also thrown in there are wonderful children's books about babywearing :)

Clockwise from bottom left:
1. Carry me (Babies Everywhere)
2. Fresh Milk: The Secret Life of Breasts by Fiona Giles <--- What I wouldn't give to have this woman as my PhD advisor...
3. My Mother Wears Combat Boots: A Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us by Jessica Mills
4. The Hot Mom's Handbook: Laugh and Feel Great from Playdate to Date Night... by Jessica Denay
5. Milk, Money, and Madness: The Culture and Politics of Breastfeeding by Naomi Baumslag M.D. M.P.H., Dia L. Michel
6. A Ride on Mother's Back: A Day of Baby Carrying around the World by Emery Bernhard, Durga Bernhard
7. Porn for New Moms: From the Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative by Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative, Susan Anderson
8. The Politics of Breastfeeding: When Breasts are Bad for Business by Gabrielle Palmer

I can't wait to start on these books!!! -- end nerd rant --
